MARÍA J. PANDO CANTELI (Coordinator) - Universidad de Deusto (Spain):
She is professor in the Department of Modern Languages and in the Department of Communication, where she teaches undergraduate courses in English and Comparative Literature, and graduate courses in Cultural Studies, European Studies, and Gender. She received her doctorate degree in Languages and Literatures in 2001, and has taught at the University of the Basque Country (UPV) (1998-2001) and at Santa Clara University (USA) (2004). Her research interests focus on gender and the media, and early modern literary and cultural studies. She is currently engaged in a project on “Transnational women networks in early modern Europe”, intitiated as a Fulbright visiting scholar at Stanford University.

She got her degree in Humanities: Communication at the University of Deusto in 2004. She spent 6 months at the Faculty of Communication Sciences in Bologna (Italy) as part of the Erasmus exchange program and is actually teaching English and Spanish to undergraduate students at the University of Deusto.

JUKKA SIHVONEN - Turun Yliopisto (University of Turku, Finland):
PhD, Professor of Cinema Studies at the University of Turku since 1994. His most recent research is on war films (a book published in Finnish in 2009), and current projects dealing with the problematic of adaptation and remediation. JUKKA-PEKKA PURO - Turun Yliopisto (University of Turku, Finland):
He completed his doctoral dissertation in 1996 on speech communication. He has worked as a research assistant, researcher, senior lecturer, and professor at Finnish universities. At the moment he is working as a professor of media studies at the university of Turku. |
